Jean-Luc Neptune, MD MBA is a physician and co-founder of Suntra Modern Recovery. Dr. Neptune earned a BA from Columbia College at Columbia University, an MD from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, and an MBA at the Wharton School. Dr. Neptune completed a residency in internal medicine at Presbyterian Hospital in New York City and is licensed to practice medicine in the state of New York.

Dr. Neptune’s work in recovery started in college as part of an NCAA-funded grant that employed student athletes to deliver drug and alcohol peer education services to other students. He is currently a DATA 2000 wavered provider, and has received training on addiction and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).

In the past Dr. Neptune served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Hospital For Special Surgery, was the General Manager of the Health 2.0 Catalyst innovation program, and continues to serve as a Partner at Blueprint Health, the pioneering digital health accelerator.

Dr. Neptune is passionate about developing innovative new ways to deliver healthcare to people with addiction. He’s a frequent guest at conferences and other digital health events. Dr. Neptune lives in Manhattan with his wife and two sons and in his off time enjoys reading, film, running, and coaching little league.

John Roesch, CASAC, CIP is a partner at Suntra Modern Recovery and a certified addiction counselor and intervention professional trained in multiple modalities including ARISE, with a decade of industry experience in a variety of settings. John’s specialties include alcohol/chemical dependency, systemic family work, and clients in psychiatric disorder crises.

John is a tireless advocate for individuals in addiction and mental health crises. He strongly emphasizes the importance of matching each client with the most appropriate recovery plan for their specific needs. He is also a huge proponent of client and family education, developing both a client and family-specific plan and, most importantly, post-discharge support and resources.

In addition to being a Certified Intervention Professional and Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor, John is also a Certified Recovery Coach and Peer Advocate. He holds a B.S. degree in Addiction Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University and is pursuing an M.S. degree in Mental Health Counseling.

John had a 20+ year career as a professional chef, sommelier, and beverage professional who worked at the world-renowned Windows on the World restaurant and represented some of the most prestigious beverage brands in the world. John spends his free time with his wife, four children, and two dogs, seeking out food nirvana, and leisure activities in his beloved Queens neighborhood.
