M.A.T. fosters long-term recovery
At Suntra, we strive to end the shame and stigma around addiction and the medications used to treat it. Suntra’s MAT providers understand that addiction is a treatable, manageable disease, and not a moral failing or issue of character. Suntra clients always receive therapeutic, honest, judgment-free addiction treatment.
Benefits of M.A.T. treatments include
- Improved patient survival rates
- Increased retention in treatment and aftercare
- Better chance of long term recovery
- Decrease in opiate use and related criminal activity
- Increase the patients’ ability to gain and maintain employment
- Improve birth outcomes among women with addiction who are also pregnant

Fight the opioid epidemic with Suntra
Opiate addiction is suffered by as many as 3 million Americans and over 16 million people worldwide. The opioid epidemic has been called the worst public health crisis in American history, affecting people of all ages, from all walks of life.
According to the CDC, opioids were involved in more than 47,000 deaths in the US in 2017, and opioid addiction affects as many as 3 million Americans.
Recovery backed by science
The Suntra Modern Recovery team is dedicated to helping our clients overcome their opioid addiction and rebuild their lives. We offer a comprehensive selection of treatment options like detoxification, counseling, coaching, and medication-assisted treatment. Our goal is to help our clients achieve long-term sobriety and live happy, healthy lives.
What is an opiate blocker?
Medications like Suboxone (which contains the active ingredients Buprenorphine and Naloxone) block opioid receptors. By blocking the body’s ability to ‘process’ opiates, not only do these drugs guard against overdose and prevent physical cravings, they also block an addicts’ ability to get high on opiates altogether. This ‘safety net’ effect makes opiate blockers a game changer for clients with opiate use disorder.

M.A.T. is part of treatment, not an alternative to treatment
While MAT can greatly assist in the addiction treatment process, MAT is not an alternative to treatment. Medication Assisted Treatment works best as part of a comprehensive recovery plan that includes other supportive therapies like recovery coaching, 12-step meetings, or inpatient treatment.
If you or someone you know is struggling with an opioid addiction, we urge you to seek help from a qualified treatment provider like Suntra Modern Recovery.
With hard work and a little help, anyone can overcome addiction and reclaim their life.
