Recovery coaching is different from therapy or counseling in that Coaching is goal-oriented and focuses on helping clients take action and complete measurable steps to achieve their goals, while therapists and counselors usually delve deeper into their clients’ emotional and psychological issues.

In other words, therapists help clients work through their mental and emotional issues, while Recovery Coaches deal with the practical and pragmatic side of addiction, helping clients successfully navigate the day-to-day challenges of early recovery.
